NEW YORK, NY - May 18, 2005 - Women's health journalist Gabrielle
Lichterman has developed a new type of daily horoscope for women, and
it has nothing to do with the stars or planets. Known as
"Hormonology", this new daily horoscope is based on the ups and downs
of womens' own hormones.

"Estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone, three of a womans' most
influential hormones, have a powerful impact on virtually every aspect
of a womans' day including her mood, brain skills, relationship,
libido, spending habits, career, diet, energy, and health," says
Lichterman. "Since a womans' hormones repeat the same pattern every
cycle, the hormonal influences she feels every day can be easily
predicted."

Lichterman's new book, "28 Days: What Your Cycle Reveals about Your
Love Life, Moods, and Potential" (Adams Media, May 2005) is the first
to show women from 15 to 50 how they can predict their day and plan
their life according to their hormone cycle. Based on scientific
research, "28 Days" is written in a hip, humorous style, and is one
the first of a new genre of nonfiction "chick-lit" books.

Set up as a daily guide, women can refer to "28 Days" to find out what
every aspect of their day will be like. "Armed with this information,
women can capitalize on each days' strengths, minimize weaknesses, and
find out the perfect day of their cycle to schedule just about
everything such as asking for a raise, planning their wedding,
launching a new business, or making an important purchase," says
Lichterman.

"As the summer vacation season approaches, a womans' hormone cycle can
even help her pick the destination and dates that will make her the
happiest," Lichterman reveals.

Here's what Lichterman says are the best vacations for every day of a
woman’s cycle:

Day 1 to Day 3: Visit friends or family, or head to vacation spots
you've visited before. That's because estrogen is low and this makes
you crave predictability and familiar surroundings.

Day 4 to Day 10: Go to an amusement park, festival, or another getaway
that's full of fun activities. During these days, estrogen is rising
and that has you wanting to take the kind of vacation that makes you
feel like a kid again.

Day 11 to Day 13: You'll enjoy hang gliding, rock climbing, going on a
safari or on another equally daring trip. That's because estrogen and
testosterone are peaking, and this makes your desire for adventure
peak, too. Your hormones also put your libido at a cycle-long high, so
you'll enjoy romantic getaways with your mate.

Ovulation (Day 14 typically) to Day 22: Go to the beach, the
countryside, a yoga retreat, or any other mellow getaway. Progesterone
is rising during these days, and this sedating hormone makes you
prefer a relaxing, quiet escape.

Day 23 to the end of your cycle: Book yourself into a luxury resort
hotel or chic spa. That's because declining hormones have you longing
for a getaway where you'll be indulged, pampered and treated like a
queen.

"Men won't have to feel left out of the Hormonology phenomenon for
long," Lichterman says. Her next book will explore the many and
diverse effects of hormones on men.
